Description
n8n-nodes-app-review-monitor
App Store and Google Play reviews in one n8n node, with one shared output schema.
Use it to route new reviews wherever your team already works: post 1-star reviews to Slack,
open a ticket for every crash report, translate and summarise reviews with an LLM, or append
them to a sheet for weekly reporting.
n8n is a fair-code licensed
workflow automation platform.

- Escalate bad reviews. Trigger → IF
rating <= 2→ Slack. One message per new low rating. - Daily digest. Schedule → App Review Monitor (last 1 day) → Summarize → Email.
- Answer with AI. Trigger → AI Agent (this node is also available as a tool) → draft a reply
- Track a competitor. Trigger with the competitor's app IDs → append to Google Sheets.

Installation
Community nodes are installed from inside n8n:
1. Go to Settings → Community nodes.
2. Select Install a community node.
3. Enter n8n-nodes-app-review-monitor and confirm.
This package is not verified by n8n yet, so it can be installed on self-hosted n8n only.
Credentials
Both nodes talk to the App Review Monitor
Actor on Apify, which does the fetching. You need an Apify API token:
1. Create a free Apify account and open
Settings → API & Integrations.
2. Copy your Personal API token.
3. In n8n, create a new App Review Monitor (Apify) API credential and paste the token.
Runs happen on your own Apify account, so usage and spend stay under your control and are
visible in the Apify console.
Nodes
App Review Monitor
Fetches reviews on demand — good for scheduled digests, backfills, and use as an AI agent tool.
| Field | Meaning |
| — | — |
| App Store Apps | Numeric app IDs (443904275) or full store URLs. Leave empty to skip the App Store. |
| Google Play Apps | Package names (jp.naver.line.android) or full store URLs. Leave empty to skip Google Play. |
| Country | Two-letter store front, e.g. us, jp, de. A country inside an App Store URL wins over this field. |
| Language | Two-letter language for Google Play reviews. App Store reviews follow the country. |
| Max Reviews per App | Cap per app and store. The App Store serves roughly 500 recent reviews per app. |
| Only Reviews From Last N Days | Moving window. Preferred for anything that runs repeatedly. |
| Only Reviews After Date | Fixed cut-off date. Handy for a one-off backfill. |
| Run Timeout (Seconds) | Aborts the underlying Actor run if it takes longer. |
Each review is returned as its own n8n item, newest first.
App Review Monitor Trigger
Polls on your schedule and starts the workflow only when a review is new. Reviews it has
already emitted are remembered per node, so nothing is delivered twice, and a manual
Fetch Test Event never hides reviews from the next real poll.
| Field | Meaning |
| — | — |
| Look Back (Days) | How far back each poll looks. Keep it just wide enough to cover the gap between polls. |
| Emit Existing Reviews on First Poll | Off by default, so activating a workflow does not replay reviews you already know about. |
Output
Both stores are normalised to the same flat item, so downstream nodes never need a branch:
| Field | Notes |
| — | — |
| store | appstore or googleplay |
| appId | Numeric App Store ID or Google Play package name |
| country, lang | Store front and review language |
| reviewId | Stable ID within its store |
| userName, rating, title, text | title is App Store only |
| appVersion, date | date is ISO 8601 |
| thumbsUp | Google Play only |
| replyText | Developer response, when present |
Reliability note. Apple’s review feed answers with HTTP 200 and an empty body every so
often, because of caching in front of it. Taken at face value that silently drops a whole app’s
reviews without any error. The Actor behind this node detects the empty answer, retries with a
different cache key, and warns in the run log if a target still came back empty.
Cost
The nodes themselves are free. The Actor is pay-per-event on your Apify account:
$1.00 per 1,000 reviews returned, plus $0.00005 per run start. Only reviews that are
actually returned are billed.
A daily trigger watching a handful of apps therefore costs a few cents per month. Two settings
control your spend: Look Back (Days) (or Only Reviews From Last N Days) and
Max Reviews per App. Prefer the moving window over a fixed date, because a fixed date makes
every later run fetch a wider range.
Match the look-back to how often you poll. Polling every hour with a one-day look-back fetches
the same day of reviews 24 times over, and every fetch is billed — even though the trigger
still emits each review only once. Polling once a day with a one-day look-back is the cheap
setting.
Example workflows
for the support team.
Compatibility
Tested against the n8n nodes API version 1 (n8n 1.x and 2.x). Requires Node.js 20.19 or newer.
