Best n8n Community Nodes for Evolution API (WhatsApp)

To connect n8n to Evolution API, most people use n8n-nodes-evolution-api by OrionDesign. It covers instances, WhatsApp messages and groups in a single node. An English version of the same node is also available. If you run the Go-based Evolution GO API instead, look at @romariormr/n8n-nodes-evogo. Packages below are ranked by weekly npm downloads. Evolution API by OrionDesign (Portuguese and English versions)

n8n-nodes-evolution-api is the most downloaded package here. It is a free node by OrionDesign that adds one Evolution API node to n8n. n8n-nodes-evolution-api-english ships the same node with an English README. That README also credits OrionDesign. Both list minimum n8n and Evolution API versions you need to meet.

• Instance: create an instance, generate a QR code, fetch an instance, set behavior, presence and proxy, fetch the proxy, disconnect WhatsApp, delete an instance.
• Message: send text, image, video, audio, document, poll, contact, list, button, Pix and status, plus react to a message. Options include delay, mentions and replies.

Evolution GO by romariormr

This package adds an Evolution GO node for the Evolution GO WhatsApp API. Its design follows n8n-nodes-evolution-api. It adds a dynamic instance dropdown and resolves tokens automatically. The README is in Portuguese.

• Message: text, link with rich preview, media by URL, buttons (reply, URL, call, copy, Pix), list, carousel, poll, location, contact, sticker, react, mark as read, edit, delete and typing or recording presence.
• Status: text and media stories with captions.
• Group: list, info, create, invite links, join, leave, manage participants, name, description, picture, batch picture updates with retry and dry run, and settings.

• n8n-nodes-evolution-go: Adds an Evolution Go node for the Evolution Go API, a Go-based REST API for WhatsApp. The README barely describes what the node does.
• n8n-nodes-evo-go: This package comes from the same repository as n8n-nodes-evolution-go and targets the Evolution Go API. The README does not list any operations.

Start by checking which server you run. If it is Evolution API, use n8n-nodes-evolution-api. It has by far the most downloads and covers instances, messages, groups and chats. If you want the same node with English documentation, install n8n-nodes-evolution-api-english instead.

If you run Evolution GO, use @romariormr/n8n-nodes-evogo. Its README documents the most of the Go options. It covers channels, status stories, carousels, batch group photos and Chatwoot settings. The other Evolution Go packages say little about what they do.

If you need labels or chatbot integrations on Evolution API, @renatoascencio/n8n-nodes-evolution-api mentions them, but its README gives few details, so test it before you rely on it.

Is Evolution API the same as Evolution GO?

Is there an English version of the Evolution API node?
