This is an n8n community node. It lets you use Newlead WhatsApp Platform in your n8n workflows.

Newlead is a WhatsApp CRM platform for managing leads, sending templates, and controlling AI responses.

Installation

Operations

• Template → Send: send an approved WhatsApp template. Options:

– Dynamic Variables: values saved on the lead before the conversation starts. A qualification question set to fill from a lead variable with the same name uses it instead of asking (if the value fits the question type).
– Manual Mode: keep the AI paused so a person handles the conversation.
– Clear Previous Chat: start the lead from scratch (previous messages hidden; summary, qualification, variables and follow-ups reset). The lead keeps its ID, name and phone. Unless Manual Mode is on, the AI is switched back on.

After sending, check data.warnings, data.aimode and data.conversationreset in the output to confirm what actually happened for this lead; warnings do not fail the node — the template was already sent.

• Message → Send: send a manual text message (WhatsApp & Instagram). Accepts a Lead ID, a phone number, or the WhatsApp ID of a lead that already exists in the bot.
• Lead → Create: create a lead, or update it if the phone already exists in the bot.
• Lead → Get / Update: accept a Lead ID, phone number, or WhatsApp ID to locate the lead; update name, status and dynamic variables (only the listed variables change).
• Lead → Get Many: read all leads from a bot.
• AI Control → Pause / Resume / Get Status: control the AI for a lead. Unlike Lead → Get/Update, this only takes a Lead ID (from the list or typed manually) — phone number and WhatsApp ID are not offered here.

Credentials

You need a Newlead account and API credentials:

1. Sign up at https://dashboard.newlead.ai
2. Get your API credentials from the platform settings
3. Configure the Newlead API credentials in n8n with your API key

• WhatsApp ID (BSUID) support for message send and lead lookup: this finds an existing lead by its WhatsApp ID; the lead still needs a phone number on file to actually receive a WhatsApp message
• Behaviour change: Lead → Update now only adds or changes the listed variables (other variables are kept), rows with an empty value are ignored, and variables cannot be deleted from n8n.
