Description
n8n-nodes-yelp-api
An n8n community node for Yelp: search businesses, get full business details, and get reviews as structured JSON. It is backed by John’s Yelp Actors on Apify (Search, Business Details, Reviews) and bills per result, so there are no subscriptions and no minimums.

What it does
One node, three operations:
- Search Businesses – find businesses by term and location, or from a pasted Yelp search URL (one item per result)
- Get Business Details – full details for a business from its Yelp URL, place ID or alias
- Get Reviews – reviews for a business from its Yelp URL, place ID or alias (one item per review)
- Search Businesses → one item per business:
title,categories,snippet,openState,link,reviewsLink,placeIds(Raw addsposition,thumbnail, …). - Get Business Details → one item per place:
name, rating, reviews, categories, address, country, placeIds(Raw adds images, hours, directions, menu, …). - Get Reviews → one item per review:
user, rating, comment, date, position(Raw adds tags, photos, feedback, …). - Yelp Search API on Apify
- Yelp Business Details API on Apify
- Yelp Reviews API on Apify
- npm package
- n8n community nodes documentation
- Apify n8n integration guide
It also works as an AI Agent tool, so an agent can look up Yelp data on demand.

Credentials
You need a free Apify account and an API token.
1. Sign in to the Apify Console.
2. Open Settings > Integrations and copy your Personal API token.
3. In n8n, create a new Apify API credential and paste the token.
4. Use the credential’s Test button to confirm it works.
The node also supports Apify OAuth2 if you prefer to connect that way.
Operations
You can point every operation at a Yelp URL copied straight from your browser, so you never have to look up an ID by hand.
Search Businesses
| Parameter | Description |
| — | — |
| Yelp Search URL | Paste a Yelp search results URL. The term, location, category, sort order and filters are read out of it, and URL values win over the fields below. Supply this or Location. The page offset in the URL is ignored. Optional. |
| Search Term | What to search for. Optional. |
| Location | The location to search within. Required unless a Yelp Search URL is given. |
| Category Filter | Yelp category alias. Optional. |
| Sort By | recommended, rating, review_count. Optional. |
| Maximum Pages | How many result pages to fetch. |
| Yelp Domain | Regional Yelp domain, e.g. www.yelp.co.uk. A short form like yelp.co.uk is expanded for you. Optional. |
Get Business Details
| Parameter | Description |
| — | — |
| Business (URL, Place ID, or Alias) | A Yelp business page URL, the encoded place ID, or the alias. Required. A URL is converted locally, so it costs no extra. |
| Include Full Menu | Include the full menu in the result. |
| Yelp Domain | Regional Yelp domain the business is on. A pasted regional URL sets this automatically. Optional. |
Get Reviews
| Parameter | Description |
| — | — |
| Business (URL, Place ID, or Alias) | A Yelp business page URL, the encoded place ID, or the alias. Required. A URL or alias is resolved for you, which adds one place_resolved event; an encoded place ID skips that fee. |
| Sort By | relevancedesc, datedesc, dateasc, ratingdesc, ratingasc, elitesdesc. Optional. |
| Rating Filter | Keep only these star ratings, e.g. 5 or 4,5. Optional. |
| Maximum Pages | How many review pages to fetch, up to 49 reviews each. |
| Yelp Domain | Regional Yelp domain the business is on. A pasted regional URL sets this automatically. Optional. |
Every operation has an Output parameter: Simplified (default, a compact AI-friendly object) or Raw (every field the API returns). Simplified is used automatically when the node runs as an AI Agent tool.
Output
Example workflows
1. Build a local business list
1. Manual Trigger
2. Yelp → Search Businesses: Location Austin, TX, Search Term coffee, Output Simplified.
3. Google Sheets: append each title and placeIds.
Or skip the fields entirely: run the search on yelp.com, copy the address bar, and paste it into Yelp Search URL.
2. Pull details and reviews for a business
1. Yelp → Get Business Details, pasting the business page URL (or its place ID).
2. Yelp → Get Reviews for the same business.
3. Aggregate or AI node: summarize sentiment.
Chaining from a search is cheapest: a search result’s placeIds[0] is the encoded place ID, which needs no resolution step.
3. Let an AI Agent answer Yelp questions
1. AI Agent node.
2. Attach Yelp as a tool.
3. Ask “Find top-rated tacos in Austin and summarize their reviews.” The agent calls Search, then Reviews, in Simplified mode.
Pricing
This node calls John’s Yelp Actors on Apify, billed pay-per-result, with no subscription and no minimums. Apify also includes a free monthly usage tier. See the Actor pages for current rates: Search · Business Details · Reviews.
